SHIFT LEFT
Innovation Lab Mental Health
The Academic Workplace ‘Shift Left’ focuses on prevention, early treatment and relapse prevention for mental health problems and disorders (such as anxiety, depression, suicidality).
‘Shift Left’ refers to an approach from ICT, in which testing, evaluation and development are started very early in the process. The goal of Shift Left is to make processes as efficient as possible with high quality, by offering everyone independent access to resources and knowledge.
We apply this principle in this Academic Workplace, in order to be able to offer efficient help to people with mental health problems and care providers. We focus on short, effective interventions both within and outside mental health care. This includes interventions that can be implemented in a timely manner in mental health care (such as for people on the waiting list for mental health care), but also in general practices and in the social domain.
The Innovation Lab Mental Health Arkin focuses on personalized E-health, the use of the social domain in interventions (such as community workers) and the promotion of social connection.
